Program Note

This is piece tells the narrative of a river (not a particular river, but a more general one). The beginning is intended to be relaxing and mimic the idea of flowing water which then shifts into something more swift and fun, and gradually makes a return to the soothing opening.

In the piece you'll hear very airy notes; this is intended to portray an openness of nature. Another contrasting sound present is slap tonguing, meant to represent the various pebbles and rocks that often poke out from the water.
